Helen considered gardening & living with us (old post)

Helen visited us from Madagascar on her way to a phd program at either UofM or West coast to see if she might live in our community. We had quite a few folks from outside the country who were bright stars returning to do phd work and wanting to live here - attracted to living with other folks working on living more sustainably.

Helen just got back in the states from travels and 2 yrs in Madagascar with the peace
corp helping women with sustainable farming practices... she's looking at
possibly attending U of M for a masters program in landscape architecture.

Helen has also lived in several intentional communities before, will likely be getting permaculture certified
before returning here end of May, beginnning of June, and is considering living
and gardening with us.

She's planning on checking out the music at the Tap Room tomorrow nite, but unfortunately both
Amanda and Molly will be out of town -- if either Liz or Greg are free and want to ck out the music
with her or say hello, Helen's cell is 831-332-0037.

Helen has a cool blog of her time in Madagascar that you can ck out: http://glowingz.com. Here is a photo from
her album of the rice harvest from the project she was working on:

Another pic of her having fun -- looks like my idea of a good time!

I sent her an invitation to be on our little network here so that she can contact us, or you can contact her if you wish to welcome her to michigan and perhaps share some tips of what you think are cool things in Ypsi or A2 that she'd want to check out and enjoy! Thanks for saying hello!
